Jamie Cullum

I had the opportunity to go to a Jamie Cullum  concert with my friends. I had not heard of him before the concert, but thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to add to my favorite artist list! He's a British jazz - piano player. WONDERFUL!!! His concert was in the Moore Theater. It is a older, smaller venue. Perfect for his concert. He was a great performer, got really into his element with his foot "tapping" about 2 feet off the ground!

Julie and I with wind-blown hair. We walked down to Starbuck's at Pikes before the concert. We then figured we couldn't bring them inside, so we stuck them in her purse! Starbucks can go into pretty much any building out here except the venues. shucks!

His piano is on the left. So we saw his backside most of the time. He started out with this outfit on including sliver pointed shoes! He continued to strip down throughout his performance

And ended in this skimpy t. He played one of his last songs in the middle of the crowd. An even better look at all the 5'3" of him :) Believe it or not, he just married a really famous TALL British Model.

Totally secure with his small self. His drink of choice: a guiness :)

Check out his music. This is one of my favorites!- "I'm all over it"

"don't stop the music" - this is one that he did with just him and the piano. He would make beats by hitting the piano and pulled the cords on the inside. It was so good!

Little Bridger turned 1!

March 13th was his birthday. I just had to take a photo of him with his new toy. Unfortunately, he got a toy that he has to share. He didn't seem to mind, though.

I made them 'sit' and 'wait' for the toy. Good dogs :)

house projects

Not sure if you all remember the sun blocking tree in the front of our house, the dead birch in the back, the other dead trees in the front and the "privacy" trees planted too far apart.  Since the "privacy" trees were not planted correctly, my dogs decided to use them as body scratchers and ruined the bottom half. They also used a bush as a "king on the hill" to escape from the other. Needless to say, our trees and bushes were not treated nicely by our dogs. (secretly, we didn't mind because the landscaping was poorly designed)

Here are some before photos

Big blue spruce blocking the sun :(

body scratchers in the back and a peek of the birch on the left

right in the middle is a thunder cloud that wasn't properly taken care of and a wine maple next to it.

AFTER!

These were taken one brisk morning. I will post more after we finish our new patio and plant some sod. Our backyard is HUGE now!

March Madness

I'm sure everyone has their bball bracket filled out and is intensely watching the games to make sure they cheer for their team. Yes, I filled out a bracket, but no intense watching for me after the first round. I have only won once in all the years I have participated in the bracket game. Since then, I have gone downhill. Fast.

I have been following my friend Victoria's brother's blog--he is hilarious! He happened to write about the bracket competitions and how he never wins. So, he filled his bracket out from a different perspective, Laci, a hairstylist, who has no idea which team is in good standing within their conference and chooses the teams by color, state, their mascot etc. I decided it was a pretty logical way to fill out a bracket if you are always losing. Why not? Bad decision. I am 73rdish out of 82ish. I will not follow his lead ever again. :)

He only did the first round picks. The rest I filled out. I picked Kansas to win. oops.

Bridger is in 4th!

If you ever have time to kill, you should check out his blog. Makes you think about stuff in the world that you would normally not think about from a different perspective --- a funny man.

First Magazine!

We just published our first magazine with the new owners! Let me tell you, it was a way better experience than any other magazine I have put out even with staying at work until 12:30 one night and getting to work at 7 the next morning to send it in time. We were still laughing and pulling jokes at midnight. I couldn't have even imagined doing that before.

Check it out!

Click on the online magazine on the right hand side. (side note: not all ads were designed by me. so no judging! :) )

A Saturday Night

We were invited to a friend's birthday party in Camano Island. It was beautiful there! But once the sun went down, Nate became bartender. There was every kind of alcohol behind the bar.  He was in heaven!

I love the expressions! Especially, Conrad's! This explains how well the bartender did :)

I never put Daisy down. She was just a peanut!

Valentine's Day

We had a beautiful sunny day for Nate's favorite holiday!

Favorite holiday -- not so much, but I did get flowers!

I had to show our blonde beauties sun bathing. They miss the sun and can't wait to soak up the sun when it decides to come out. Once I went outside to capture the moment, Jeter knew what was up and high tailed it. I think he is over the photo shoots. Bridger didn't mind :)

Super Bowl

Yes, I know it is March. I should start talking about March Madness, but I have to play catch up :)

Of course we had people over for Super Bowl! Nate couldn't watch the big game anywhere else but on his own screen. We had a lot of food, friends, fun and a game. The down fall to the game was only two people won - twice. Thumbs down.

Making cut out cookies is hard. More so when you are a perfectionist. I'm surprised those cookies still tasted good after all the times I had to redo them.

I think my photo with the dogs beats my dad's. You can tell Nate really wanted to be taking my picture by his lack of photography skills. What could be more important? ;)

Check out our new "entertainment stand" aka a book shelf. Works like a charm and I love it!
